Diwali

Story

Long, long ago, there was a wise and brave

prince named Rama in a city called Ayodhya.

He was a very good person, and everyone loved him.

Rama’s wife, Sita, was also very kind and beautiful.

But there was an evil king named Ravana

who wanted to take Sita away.

Ravana had ten heads and was very powerful,

and was very selfish and mean.

One day, Ravana tricked Sita and kidnapped her.

Rama was very sad and worried.

He couldn’t rescue Sita by himself,

so he got help from his loyal friend Hanuman

and an army of monkeys.

After many adventures and battles, Rama and his friends defeated the evil Ravana.

They rescued Sita and returned home to their kingdom, Ayodhya.

The people of Ayodhya were very happy to have their beloved prince and his wife back.

To celebrate their return and the victory of good over evil, they lit up the city with lots of lamps and candles.

The entire city looked so beautiful and bright, just like Diwali today.

That’s why Diwali is celebrated, to remember the triumph of good over evil, the return of Rama and Sita.

It’s a time for families to come together, light lamps, share sweets, and be happy, just like the people of Ayodhya were when Rama came home.

It’s a wonderful celebration of light and goodness!
